Can Qatari documents be legalized by Apostille?
No - Qatar is not a member of the Apostille Convention and does not issue Apostille stamps. Documents legalized by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs need additional authentication by the embassy of the receiving country in Doha before they can be used abroad.

What types of documents can be legalized in Qatar for use abroad?
Official documents that can be legalized in Qatar include birth, death, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, criminal record and police certificates, company registration and tax documents, court documents, university and academic diplomas, certificates signed by registered doctors etc., documents issued by government authorities. Other documents may require prior certification by a notary or other authority.

What is document legalization in Qatar?
Document legalization (or attestation) is a procedure which authenticates a public Qatari document so that it can be submitted in another country for official or legal purposes - for example, if you need to submit a Qatari birth certificate to the authority or embassy of another country, it will often need to be legalized.
Legalzing a document in Qatar certifies the authenticity of the signature appearing on the document as that of an authorized public official in Qatar and confirms the capacity of that official.
Qatari document legalization is a two-step process:
- First the document will need to be legalized by Qatari authorities.
- Then the document will need to be legalized by the embassy of the recipient country (embassy in Qatar or non-resident embassy accredited to Qatar).
Note that Qatar is not issue Apostille Stamps, so Qatari documents cannot be legalized by Apostille.

Qatar Police Clearance Certificates can be obtained from the Department of Criminal Evidences and Information. Applications must include a full set of fingerprints duly attested by a competent government authority and can be submitted:
